Swim:
Staring at Mullaloo beach, athletes will navigate a  2 x 750m lap course for the full Standard and 1500m Swim race.   Athletes will need to exit the water after lap 1 before navigating lap 2.  Sprint and 750m Swim athletes will complete 1 x 750m Lap.  Bolt athletes
(Novice & Junior race) are required to complete a smaller 250m swim lap.

Bike:
The Standard Race bike course comprises of a 3 x lap course leaving Tom Simpson Park.   For the bike leg, after exiting transition for the cycle leg athletes turn left into Oceanside Promenade and continue North past Mullaloo beach along Oceanside Promenade.  After passing Mullaloo beach it continues north along Oceanside Promenade and then turns left into Ocean Reef Road continuing north until just before the Ocean Reef Boat Harbour.  The course turns before the Ocean Reef Boat Harbour entrance and returns South along the same route on the south bound left hand lane.  On return to Mullaloo Beach the bike course continues past in a Southern direction along Northside Drive and then Whitfords Avenue before turning just before Hillary’s Beach Park (Whitford Nodes) location.  Athletes continue then return route to Mullaloo Beach past Tom Simpson Park for the next lap. After competing the third lap, athletes return to the transition area turning left into the Mullaloo Surf Club car park to transition for the run leg.

Sprint/Duathlon athletes exit transition and turn left into Oceanside Promenade and continue for around 50m to the first roundabout before returning in a Southern direction turning just before Hillary's Beach Park (Whitford Nodes) and returning to Mullaloo Beach to complete their 1st Lap. They then continue past Mullaloo Beach to do a 2nd full lap as with the standard distance (Mulallo-OceanReef-Mullaloo-Hillarys-Mullaloo-T2).

Bolt (Junior and Novice) athletes exit transition North the same direction as the Standard distance but turn early (at Key West beachside Parking Station) after around 1.5km before returning to do a 3/4 loop to the Southern turn at Hillary's and returning to T2 at Mullaloo Beach.

Run:

  • Standard run leg is a two lap (2 x lap) out and back lap of 2.5km out and 2.5km return.
  • Sprint is a one lap (1 x lap) out and back lap of 2.5km out and 2.5km return.
  • Duathlon (1st lap) is an 1km out and 1km back run lap.  After the Bike-T2 exit, Duathlon athletes do a 2nd lap of 5km is the same (1 x lap) out and back lap of 2.5km out and 2.5km return (same lap as Sprint and Standard).
  • Bolt (Novice & Junior) Bolt is a (1 x lap) 1km out and 1km back run lap.

For the run course, after exiting transition athletes head North on the recreation path and follow the path all the way past Mullaloo beach to the turnaround point before Ocean Reef Boat Harbour returning on the same path.  The course offers a spectacular scenic run with no traffic exposure.  Staging the event and run on the pathway north to  Mullaloo beach as a lap course will provide a good event experience for both competitors and spectators.  But you will be tested as their is a short sharp climb each way on each lap otherwise it's a fast run!
